Asian style Pulled Jackfruit burger

A Thai twist on the classic, slightly greasy burger. This pulled jackfruit burger with homemade coleslaw is a delicious change from the traditional burger. Give it a try and be amazed by the texture of Jackfruit!

  • Koh Thai jackfruit: 1 can
  • Koh Thai fish sauce: 4  el
  • Ginger: 1 cm
  • Garlic: 1 clove
  • Koh Thai Sriracha: 1 el
  • Sesame oil: 2 el
  • Oyster sauce: 2 el
  • Burger buns: 4

For the asian style coleslaw

  • White cabbage: 1/2
  • Carrot (julienne): 1/2 zak (150g)
  • White union 1
  • Kewpie (asian mayo): 100ml
  • Koh Thai Sriracha: 1 el
  • Sugar: 1 tl
  • Rice vinegar: 1 tl

To garnish

  • Lemon: 1, cut into wedges
  • Cilantro: 1 package

Preparation method

Step 1: Grate the ginger and garlic. Rinse the jackfruit and place in a bowl. Mix the jackfruit with the rest of the ingredients. Place in a pan over medium heat and fry the pulled jackfruit in some oil for about 10-15 minutes.

Step 2: For the coleslaw: Finely chop the white cabbage and the white onion into rings. Mix the cabbage, onion and carrot in a bowl with the rest of the ingredients. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step 3: Grill the burger buns briefly in the oven or in a grill pan. Fill the buns with the pulled jackfruit and 2 tbsp coleslaw. Finish with a wedge of lime and fresh coriander.
