Vegan chocolate mousse with coconut milk

A mousse of coconut milk? Follow our steps and put a delicious vegan mousse on the table in no time.



Note: with this recipe, you have to start a day in advance.


For 2 people:

  • Koh Thai coconut milk : 2 cans
  • Cocoa powder : 2el
  • Maple Syrup* : 2el
  • Vanilla extract : 1tl
  • Salt : pinch
  • Pure chocolate : 50g
  • Fresh fruit : for decoration



* Maple syrup can replace with honey (the dish is then no longer vegan)


Preparation method



Step 1: Put the cans of coconut milk in the fridge and leave for at least one night.




Step 2: Open the cans of coconut milk and scoop the solid part of the coconut milk into a bowl and mix briefly so that you have a smooth substance.




Step 3: Add the cocoa, vanilla extract and pinch of salt and mix. Now add the maple syrup while mixing everything. Mix for 2-3 minutes with a hand mixer until the mixture thickens. Make sure you also take hold of the edges.




Step 4: Pour the chocolate mixture into two serving trays or glasses and put in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.




Step 5: Remove the chocolate mousse from the refrigerator. Finely chop the chocolate and spread over the mousses.




Tip: you can make the chocolate mousse 1 to 2 days in advance. Store covered in the refrigerator until use. Also tasty with some fresh fruit for decoration!
